Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has approved the design for martyrs’ memorial. This memorial is being built to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the state and for the Telangana statehood movement.
The structure will be constructed in Hyderabad’s Hussain Sagar.
Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao announced the same on his Twitter handle, “To eternalise the sacrifices of hundreds of martyrs in Telangana statehood movement, @TelanganaCMO has approved martyrs memorial design. Coming up at the famous Hussain Sagar at the core of Hyderabad”.
The design is developed on a traditional lamp in the form of a diya to eternalise the sacrifices of hundreds of martyrs in Telangana statehood movement, he added. A four floor multi-level hall is being constructed for a museum, conference hall and restaurant.
The 24-feet-statue ‘Telangana Martyrs Memorial’ that is present now at Gun Park belongs to the 1971 movement of the separate statehood. This new memorial is to honor the 2014 movement. As we have witnessed, many lives have been sacrificed for achieving “Telangana”. Therefore, the State Government has come up with an idea to construct a new monument.
On the banks of Hussain Sagar, in an area of 2.5 acres adjacent to Lumbini Park, now a “Telangana Martyrs Memorial” is coming up and KCR has approved the design of the project.
