Nagam Janardhan Reddy has quietly joined the Congress party


Nagam Janardhan Reddy, a senior leader and former minister in Chandrababu Naidu cabinet in the combined Andhra Pradesh, seems calm in his own work for quite some time now. He joined the Congress party a couple of days ago without much fuss about it.

It’s a known fact that Nagam is maintaining a distance with BJP public affairs from many days. He recently met Congress president Rahul Gandhi along with Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy. Later, he officially joined the Congress party.

Rahul gave a hearty welcome to the senior leader and said that his presence will be felt in the party and will definitely strengthen the power. One thing that public couldn’t comprehend is, why Nagam joined the party secretly? He could have announced it by arranging a meeting.

Nagam is prominently known in Mahbubnagar politics and everyone expected him to host a public meet at Nagarkurnool, signalling his come back into active politics.

Nevertheless, the Congres party is happy to have him as he would be an asset to them. Nagam, while joining, stated that, the coming assembly elections in 2019 would be his last elections and if he did not win the elections, he would retire from politics.
