PM Modi Marks 125th Anniversary of Vivekananda’s Speech at WHC

More than 2,500 delegates from 80 countries are scheduled in the three-day World Hindu Congress (WHC) in Chicago from September 7 to 9.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the valedictory function of the 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago speech through video conferencing. He said that he considers himself to be fortunate to be able to attend the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekanand’s Chicago speech.

Notable persons RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Actor Anupam Kher were also delivered speeches at World Hindu Congress

Venkaiah Naidu reminded that Swami Vivekananda’s ideas of universal tolerance, compassion, and concern for the poor are as relevant today as they were during his lifetime.

Actor Anupam Kher says it was a big achievement for him — a lower middle class Kashmiri Pandit boy from Shimla — to speak at the World Hindu Congress in Chicago. He gave a speech in the US city on Friday and says Hinduism is Way of Life

The “dwindling Hindu population” remained a theme throughout the WHC. As “Only Hindus bought into the foolish thought of population control that was propagated. If the Hindus do not reverse this trend, this will be disastrous, and every Hindu should take pride in having more and more children,” said Sadhu Madhu Pandit Dasa, president of ISKCON Bangalore
