The Telangana State Government had decided to conduct health tests for over 30 lakh students across the state and issue ‘Health Cards’ to them from the next academic year.
The checkups will start from July and complete within six months, followed by issuing health cards. Also, they would provide hygienic kits to about eight lakhs students from government and minority schools.
TS Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari hosted a meeting and Health Minister Lakshma Reddy, along with top officials, were present. He said this program will be carried out in all the government schools, Zilla Parishath, and Aided Schools in the state. Also, schools will be informed beforehand about the dates of health checkups.
The discussion further went on to the teachers who need to be aware of health issues and be adequately trained on health checkups.
