Former Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, gave moral support to the Telugu Desam Party, which is rigorously protesting against the Centre over injustice made to Andhra Pradesh in Union budget.
As per reports, Sonia Gandhi had called TDP MPs Kesineni Nani, K Ram Mohan Naidu and Thota Narasimham for a personal interaction with them to know the issues in detail. She tried to fathom about the promises made by the Centre and the issues that were not solved as per the AP Reorganization Act.
The TDP MPs gave elaborated patiently on the injustice done to AP in the budget and lack of implementation of issues mentioned in the bifurcation act. Soon after, Congress floor leader Mallikharjuna Kharge, issued a notice to Speaker through Lok Sabha Secretary General seeking a discussion and voting on the AP Bifurcation Act issues under rule 184.
It is suspiciously surprising to see the Congress taking initiative and lending hand to the TDP. Moreover, it is obvious that Congress will have a good chance of blaming BJP for today’s environment in the Parliament.
On the other hand, TDP MPs continued the protest on the fourth day. They surrounded the Speaker’s podium as soon as the Lok Sabha session started.
